Shortbread Biscuits Play Food/Toy Knitting Pattern

Shortbread Biscuits Play Food/Toy Knitting Pattern

£3.75Price

This play food pentagon of Scots Shortbread is a fun make and forms an instantly recognisable addition to any collection of play food or pin cushions.

The top of the shortbread slice has a Scottish Thistle, or Cluaran, as the Scots say.

I've knitted up the 5 page pattern in Women's Institute 4 ply, though the biscuits can also be made from other 4 ply yarns, in particular James C Brett Baby 4 Ply. Like all play food, the shortbread makes a great stash buster.

Whether made as an individual slice or whole pentagon, the shortbread is perfect for home collections or for selling at fundraising fairs and look as tempting as the real thing...

These biscuits are quick and easy to make and are perfect for children’s imaginative play - particularly in toy kitchens - or for kids’ tea parties, teddy bear or doll picnics.

They're great for stimulating learning, whether through counting games or as a teaching resource.

Safe when thrown or dropped, they are also washable at a low temperature.

Other uses could include display or decoration, or as pin cushions...
